Assessment

Component 1: Portfolio and is the coursework element of the specification. From February 1st , students begin work on the exam unit, known as Component 2: Externally set assignment. This consists of a preparatory period of typically 8 weeks, before an exam of 15 hours over 3 days. The preparation period is used to generate a sketchbook of work, normally over a 10 - 12 week period, leading to the creation of a final response created under exam conditions. Both the prep work and the exam time count towards the assessment of this unit, which accounts for 40% of the overall grade.
