A dedicated pastoral team provides personalised guidance, including academic mentoring.

All students receive weekly PSHE covering physical health, mental wellbeing, relationships and wider-world preparation.

English Literature and Religion and Philosophy students achieved 100% A*-B grades in 2025.

In 2024, 75% of Further Mathematics students achieved A/A*, while all students on specified Business, Health and Social Care, and Art and Design courses achieved at least Double or Triple Distinction.

The sixth form describes itself as small and says this enables students to be nurtured as valued individuals.

The academy provides a careers programme beginning in Year 7.

The sixth form promotes high standards, exemplary conduct and a “high expectations, no excuses” culture.

“At TBOWA we expect high standards of commitment, attendance and punctuality, and it is important that you set a good example to the rest of the school in the way that you dress. The image presented by TBOWA 6 th Form students is also important for maintaining our high reputation within the local community. The 6 th Form Leadership Team will monitor the clothes worn by our students and if not meeting our dress code will be sent home to change, “high expectations, no excuses”.”

Top 2022 achievers progressed to Oxford and Cambridge after attaining four A* grades.

“Mate, who achieved A\*, A\*, A\*, A\* in Computer Science, Maths, Further Maths and Physics and is going on to read Computer Science at University of Cambridge.”

2025 destinations included Russell Group universities and courses spanning mathematics, management, computer science and history.

“TBOWA students are off to study at top Russell group universities including the University of Bath, University of Manchester, University of Southampton and University of Edinburgh, to study a variety of courses including Mathematics, International Management, Computer Science and Ancient and Medieval History​.”

The 2024 cohort gained university-course places, with two course changes pending, including destinations such as Warwick, Manchester, Bristol and King's College London.
