The school seeks to remove learning barriers and include students with SEND within the school community.

A Level attainment included one third of grades at A*-A and two thirds at A*-B.

The KS5 technology course offers A-level Product Design and Fashion and Textiles, with fantastic recent results and a strong local reputation.

“We have a successful KS5 course where students have the opportunity to study A level Product Design or Fashion and Textiles . The courses are delivered in a varied and hands on method which has produced fantastic results in recent years. Our course and results are well known in Derby as we attract students from many other local schools to join our success.”

The planned Year 12 intake is approximately 175 students.

The school provides university-application support and has links with several local universities.

“We have an established and highly successful system in place to support you through the university application process and close links with local universities, including Derby, Nottingham, Nottingham Trent,and Leicester and Loughborough.”

Students who cannot arrange holiday work experience may choose it during the enrichment programme between January and Easter.

“However, we recognise that it is not always possible to arrange relevant work experience during school holidays and therefore there is an opportunity during Enrichment between January and Easter to choose Work Experience.”

The sixth form specialises in A Levels, is rated Outstanding by Ofsted, and prepares students for higher education and employment through study, enrichment and work placements.

The sixth-form mathematics offering includes Maths and Further Maths at A-Level.

June 2025 induction booking closed after high demand, with enquiries directed to the sixth-form email address.

Enrolment for the Year 12 2025/26 cohort has closed, with successful applicants sent confirmation by email on 27 August.

More than 90% of students progress to university after completing AS and A levels at the school.

Post-sixth-form destinations include university, apprenticeships and employment.
