Ben Rhydding Primary School

The school has a trainee SENDCO who is completing a SEND qualification and shadowing the current SENDCO.

The Inclusion team provides personalised interventions and pastoral care covering social, emotional, mental-health, SEND, disability, behavioural and medical needs.

“This team ensures that children receive personalised interventions and pastoral care, whether it be for their social and emotional needs, special educational needs, disabilities, behaviour, mental health or medical needs.”

Pastoral support helps pupils take responsibility for their behaviour and make appropriate choices.

The school offers extracurricular clubs that pupils may choose to join.

Year 6 pupils participated in a Town Council visit connected to a litter-picking initiative.

“We heard how pupils in Year 6 had visited the Town Council and spoken about their litter picking initiative.”
