SEND strategies include explicit instruction, cognitive and metacognitive strategies, scaffolding, flexible grouping, and technology.

“Below is a summary of the strategies we implement: 1. Explicit instruction – Clear explanations, modelling and frequent checks for understanding 2. Cognitive and metacognitive strategies – Teaching slide content is reduced and pupils are given the opportunity to rehearse and evaluate their learning periodically 3. Scaffolding – Pupils are provided with supportive tools or resources to help them to access the task 4. Flexible grouping – Lessons groupings are flexible based on pupils’ needs 5. Using technology – Alternative methods of recording are used to support learning and recording in lessons”

SEND Ambassadors promote awareness, kindness, understanding, inclusion, and peer role-modelling.

“Our SEND Ambassadors play an important role in supporting inclusion across our school community. They help raise awareness of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), promote kindness and understanding, and act as positive role models for their peers.”

Safeguarding is the school's top priority, supported by policies and procedures intended to protect pupils and provide a safe, supportive environment.

The school provides confidential Early Help support for families, with a trained staff member able to conduct assessments and act as Lead Professional.

“We are committed to providing Early Help support for families where needed and Mrs Dixon is trained to complete Early Help Assessments with families and fulfil the role of Lead Professional if needed. All Early Help information is confidential and will only be shared with people who you consent too.”
