Hearing-impaired students are described as integral to the school community, which holds Deaf Awareness Week activities and competitions.

“Our Hearing Impaired students especially are an integral part of the BGGS community, and for them and everyone else, Deaf Awareness Week is an exciting time in the school's calendar.”

Students are entitled to support for their emotional, social, mental-health and educational needs.

Enrichment is delivered through activities including visits, enterprise days, productions and community work.

A Work Skills pathway provides a Level 2 qualification and work placements, but is restricted to the school's own Year 11 students.

Applications for September 2026 have closed, but places may still be available through open enrolment.

A sixth-form open evening was scheduled for 12 November 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:30pm, with no advance registration required.

The full-time technical qualifications offer routes to university, apprenticeships, or employment.

Students are prepared for several post-18 routes, including higher education, employment, a gap year and foundation courses.

Applied general qualifications averaged Distinction- (33.11 points), and Tech Levels averaged Distinction (35.83 points).

In 2024, average A-level attainment was C- (27.43 points), while academic qualifications including A levels averaged C- (27.59 points).
