SEND

“Hounslow’s SEND Local Offer website:”
The school provides a staged learning-support approach across a continuum of SEND needs and provision, extending its commitment to excellence to pupils with special needs and pupils whose difficulties stem from limited English.
“It provides a staged approach to pupils with special educational needs, based on a ‘continuum of needs and a continuum of provision’. Above all, it is designed to ensure that the commitment to excellence which is at the heart of the school’s Mission Statement applies in full measure to pupils with special needs and those whose difficulties arise from an insufficiently developed command of English.”
Pastoral
The school works with other agencies to identify, assess and support students who are suffering harm.
“The Heathland School takes seriously its responsibility under section 175 of the Education Act 2002 and existing documentation including ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (September 2023) and Working Together to Safeguard Children (June 2018) relating to Child Protection to safeguard and promote the welfare of children; and to work together with other agencies to ensure there are adequate arrangements within our school to identify, assess and support those students who are suffering harm. We will always act in the best interest of the child.”
The school commits to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, with all staff, governors and volunteers expected to share that commitment.
“At the Heathland School we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff, teaching and non-teaching (including temporary and supply staff), governors and volunteers to share this commitment.”
