Teachers, nurses, school counsellor and chaplain support students academically and emotionally daily; counsellor holds group and one-to-one sessions

“At Eltham College, our teachers, nurses, school counsellor and Chaplain ensure our students are supported academically and emotionally every day. Our nurses regularly attend form time to speak with students to discuss the importance of keeping their minds and bodies healthy, and how best to do this. Our School Counsellor takes group sessions to discuss key challenges being faced by our students, and holds one-to-one sessions with students where needed.”

Heads of Upper/Lower Sixth and Deputy Head jointly oversee pastoral and academic wellbeing; House system adds an additional layer of pastoral care and inter-house camaraderie.

Students can take leadership roles through Prefects, House Captains, Community Service program, or the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.

Sixth Form students presented independent research projects at an EPQ evening, described as encouraging rigorous independent research equivalent to half an A Level.

Sixth formers choose between three A Levels plus an Enrichment Programme (which may include the EPQ) or four A Levels.

Sixth Formers have dedicated spaces (David Robins Sixth Form Space, Pearson Sixth Form Study Centre) with computers, HE materials, informal work areas and silent study in the library.
