Assessment

AS Level Two examined components, both worth 50% of the qualification. Students are required to read a minimum of four texts, including two published before 1900. Component 1 - Shakespeare - Poetry pre-1900. Component 2 - Drama post-1900 - Prose post-1900. A Level Three components: two examined components each worth 40% of the qualification and one non-examined assessment component worth 20%. Component 1 - Shakespeare - Poetry pre-1900. Component 2 - Close reading in chosen topic area. Comparative and contextual study from chosen topic area. Component 3 - Critical piece OR re-creative writing piece with commentary. Linked texts essay
