AS 2 exam papers each exam worth 50% of the AS Paper 1 - Tectonic processes and hazards, landscape systems process and change. 1 hour 45 minutes - 90 marks. Paper 2 - Globilisation and shaping places. 1 hour 45 minutes - 90 marks. A Level 3 exam papers Paper 1 - Tectonic processes and hazards, landscapes systems processes and change, water cycle and water insecurity, carbon cycle and energy security, climate change futures. 2 hours 15 minutes- 105 marks/30% of total mark Paper 2 - Globalisation superpowers, Regenerating places, Global development and connections. 2 hours 15 minutes - 105 marks/30% of total mark Paper 3 - Synoptic. 2 hours 15 minutes - 70 marks/20% of total mark Coursework A level only independent investigation 3000 - 4000 words based on fieldwork. 70 marks/20% of total marks Fieldwork AS - 2 days of fieldwork A Level - 4 days of fieldwork This is a compulsory part of the course and must be completed. Fieldwork will happen in both Year 12 and Year 13. In Year 13 this will include a residential trip to Dorset, which currently costs £190 (financial assistance may be available for eligible students).
