Why this course? Students will develop their technical and performance skills in their chosen performing arts specialisms, as well as their creative skills during devising and choreographic projects. Students will study current practitioners and their working methods and techniques, as well as developing their written analytical skills. Student profile The course is not only designed for students who enjoy Performing Arts, but also for students who wish to develop their communication and creative skills, and are interested in a range of creative careers as well as teaching. The diploma offers excellent opportunities for those considering a career in the performing arts, by working to industry briefs and experiencing employer engagement throughout the course. For students for whom an element of performing arts would be complementary, the qualification supports progression to higher education when taken as part of a programme of study that includes other vocational or general qualifications. Progression Students could go onto study Performing Arts at University as well as vocational training in Dance/Drama. Students who have completed this course have worked on cruise ships, in small scale theatres as well as teaching in state schools and working in the Media Industry.
