
The BTEC Level 3 International in Applied Science is for students seeking a standard science qualification who wish to continue their education through applied learning and who aim to progress to higher education or apprenticeships and, ultimately, employment in the applied science sector.
This specification incorporates three methods of assessment. Three examined units and five internally assessed coursework units throughout the two years. Each piece of assessed work will be awarded a pass, merit or distinction grade and these grades are cumulative, resulting in a final grade at the end of the course. It is, therefore essential students apply themselves to all tasks as they are continually being assessed.
