Course summary
Psychology is the scientific study of the mind and behaviour. The course covers all the main, traditional areas of Psychology and more current and applied areas, as well as developing the students’ understanding of Psychological research and their ability to carry out small-scale research studies. Paper 1: Introductory topics in Psychology: Social Influence, Memory, Attachment and Psychopathology. Paper 2: Psychology on Context: Approaches in Psychology, Research Methods and Bio-Psychology. Paper 3: Issues and debates in Psychology plus 3 options in Psychology chosen from the following: Relationships/Gender/Cognition and Development; plus one from: Schizophrenia/Eating Behaviour/Stress; and one from: Aggression/Forensic Psychology/Addiction.
