Course summary

Students will study a wide range of topics at all scales, in different parts of the world, and in different types of environments. Conflicts and current issues will be studied and students will be required to make decisions and find solutions. Students will gain valuable fieldwork skills, and skills in report writing and interpreting and presenting data. Students will have the opportunity to go on a field trip to Iceland to further study the hazards unit, as well as the water and carbon cycle unit. They will also be able to attend field trips along the Northumberland coastline. Students will also have the opportunity to go on a residential field trip to the Lake District to collect primary data for their coursework.
