
In total students will complete 8 units, 3 of these units are externally assessed through 2 exams and a controlled assessment, the remaining 5 units are internally assessed through coursework. The 8 units are: • Human Lifespan Development (external – exam) • Working in Health and Social Care (external – exam) • Enquiries into Current Research (external – controlled assessment) • Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs (internal) • Principles of Safe Practice (internal) • Promoting Public Health(internal) • Work Experience in Health and Social Care (internal) • Physiological Disorders and their Care (internal)
Useful: Knowledge of health and social care settings, care values, health and social care professionals and how to promote individualised care. Essential: Good literacy skills as students will undertake a lot of extended writing.
There are regular deadlines for all units assessed internally and students will be given a 15 day window to work on improving work when possible. There is 1 external exam timetabled for year 12 in May 2021. This will then be followed by a resit opportunity if required.
