Course summary

The course is designed to provide experience of activities carried out by scientists. It allows students to apply and build on their existing scientific knowledge, skills and understanding in an industry related context. Upon completion of this course, students will be qualified to seek employment or undertake further study, such as HND/degree courses in an applied science related subject. BTECs are well established and highly regarded alternatives to general qualification, suitable for a wide range of learners and designed to accommodate the needs of employers as well as facilitating progression to university. Alternatively, this qualification can also lead to direct employment in a science related area such as laboratory work. The Extended Diploma will earn you UCAS points in the same way that A levels do.
