Course summary
In the first year you will investigate the English Legal System, how the courts both criminal and civil operate. In addition you will spend time looking at sources of law: the role of Parliament, Judges and European Union. In the second year the focus is on Contract Law and the concepts of justice, morality and the law relating to technology, including data protection and the cyber-crime. Law A level can lead to a wide range of university courses. As well as being preferred by some universities to study Law it is also beneficial for Business, Government and Politics, Criminology and Social Sciences. Employment opportunities are numerous, including working within the Legal System, Civil Service, Police Force, Environmental Agencies, Local Government and the Banking Industry.
