Course summary

This A level complements many other subjects and can help in a range of careers such as teaching and journalism. English Language A level is very different from what you may be used to in your GCSE studies. It involves the linguistic analysis of a range of different types of spoken and written texts. A Level English Language develops a very wide platform of skills supporting onward study in a wide range of subjects at university, and is a valuable qualification for any professional career which will require good written and verbal communication skills, in addition to the more specifically English related degree courses such as journalism or creative writing.
