Design and Technology (Product Design)

Assessment

A Level Design and technology course is linear so assessment of student’s knowledge takes place at the end of the two years of study. Within year 12 you will concentrate on developing an understanding of the subject which allows students to develop a range of skills and outcomes. This will be via theory sessions and practical design and make activities. In Year 13 students are given the opportunity to apply the skills they have acquired and developed to design and make a product of their own choice. The final assessment comprises of 50% coursework and 50% written paper.
