PAPER 1: Drama and poetry pre-1900: Written examination (2 hours 30 minutes)—40% of the A level grade -Questions will entail a critical analysis of a section of The Tempest, an essay based question on The Tempest and a comparative essay on A Doll’s House and Christina Rossetti’s poetry. PAPER 2: Comparative and contextual study: Written examination (2 hours and 30 minutes)—40% of the A level grade -Questions will entail a critical analysis of an unseen dystopian text and a comparative essay question on at least two texts from a list of: 1984 by George Orwell, The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood, and Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. NON– EXAM ASSESSMENT: Literature post- 1900—20% of the A level grade -Task 1: 1000 word close analysis of either poetry, drama or prose. -Task 2: 2000 words: comparative essay of either drama, poetry or prose
