Assessment

There are two examinations (Breadth in Biology and Depth in Biology) both 1 hour 30 minutes long and each worth 50%. Both exams will be based on all four of the following modules: Module 1 - Development of practical skills in biology Module 2 - Foundations of Biology Module 3- Exchange and transport Module 4 - Biodiversity, evolution and disease There are three examinations; exam 1 is biological processes (modules 1, 2, 3 and 5), exam 2 is biological diversity (modules 1, 2, 4 and 6) and exam 3 is unified biology (modules 1 to 6). Exams 1 and 2 are both worth 37% and are both 2 hours and 15 minutes long. Exam 3 is worth 26% and is 1 hour 30 minutes long. The modules are: •Module 1 - Development of practical skills in biology •Module 2 - Foundations of Biology •Module 3 - Exchange and transport •Module 4 - Biodiversity, evolution and disease •Module 5-Communication, homeostasis and energy •Module 6 - Genetics, evolution and ecosystems
