Course summary
Teaching is delivered by a variety of methods such as small group work, reports, controlled assessments, presentations, quizzes, debates and practical research. The research undertaken will allow you to experience some of the practical, ethical and methodological issues that are necessary to progress to university. In the first year of the course, you will study AS Law. This is a stand-alone qualification that is co-taught with A Level Law. You will also be required to complete a minimum of 20 hours work experience in both year one and year two. This will help develop the personal qualities and skills required by universities and employers. Key units studied: • Law making and the legal system • The concept of liability • Criminal law (offences against the person) or contract • Criminal law (offences against property) or tort, and concepts of law
