Course summary

Student will be challenged to develop their speaking and writing and ability to communicate in a range of contexts. They will develop language strategies to sustain communication and build fluency and confidence. The course aims to develop students’ critical thinking on the culture and society of Spain and Latin America. Students will analyse texts, films and other materials in the original language and develop an appreciation and understanding of their cultural and social context. Content The course will cover: • Aspects of Hispanic society • Artistic culture in the Hispanic world • Multiculturalism in Hispanic society • Aspects of political life in Hispanic society • Grammar • One text and one film from the specification Why • You’ll enjoy this course if you are passionate about the Spanish language, but also if you enjoy learning about Spanish and Hispanic culture. The course will enable you to develop your fluency in Spanish and to communicate with greater confidence. You’ll have the chance to explore Spanish cinema and literature and speak lots of Spanish.
