Course summary

If you choose to study A-Level Psychology, you will attempt to explain the many different facets of human behaviour: from why we follow the orders of our parents/teachers, to why some people suffer from disorders like depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and schizophrenia. You will also engage in a range of interesting debates and consider questions like: Is gender (masculinity and femininity) the product of our biological makeup or the product of society? (Nature-Nurture Debate) Does someone choose whether they will commit a crime or is their behaviour caused by internal/external factors? (Free Will versus Determinism).
