Assessment

Students sit for a Mock examination at the end of Year 12, they are not entered for AS examination. This is a linear course and students will take A-level Mathematics and A-level Further Mathematics examinations at the end of year 13. Paper 1: Pure Mathematics 1 2 hours written examination (100 marks) 66.66% Topic 1 – Proof Topic 2 – Algebra and functions Topic 3 – Coordinate geometry in the (x, y) plane Topic 4 – Sequences and series Paper 2: Statistics and Mechanics 1 hour written examination (50 marks) 33.33% Topic 5 – Trigonometry Topic 6 – Exponentials and logarithms Topic 7 – Differentiation Topic 8 – Integration Topic 9 – Vectors
