In total students will complete 4 units, 2 of these units are externally assessed through an exam and the remaining 2 are internally assessed through coursework assignments. The 4 units are: • Human Lifespan Development (external – exam) • Working in Health and Social Care (external – exam) • Meeting Individual Care and Support Needs (internal) • Physiological Disorders and their Care (internal)

Useful: Knowledge of health and social care settings, care values, health and social care professionals and how to promote individualized care. Desirable: Knowledge of life stages, growth and development, ageing process and puberty. Essential: Good literacy skills as students will undertake a lot of extended writing.

Assessment
There are regular deadlines for all units assessed internally and students will be given a 15-day window to work on improving work when possible. There is 1 external exam timetabled for year 12 in May 2021. This will be followed by a resit opportunity.
