Assessment

Internally assessed and externally moderated (Edexcel). There are two parts to the assessment: 1.A portfolio (2500-3000 words) (60 marks) 2.Externally assessed by a visiting examiner (Edexcel) Group performance (36 marks) Monologue or duologue (24 marks) Written examination: 2 hours 30 minutes Section A: Live Theatre Evaluation (20 marks) Analyze and evaluate a live theatre performance students have seen from a choice of two questions. Section B: Page to Stage: Realizing a Performance Text (36 marks) Students answer from the perspective of a performer and a designer. Section C: Interpreting a Performance Text (24 marks) Student’s directorial concept -based on Dr Faustus - is compared to its original performance conditions. From a director’s point of view, demonstrate how your directorial concept will communicate ideas to a contemporary audience.
