Course summary

This is a rewarding qualification. There is a practical element developing a program for a real life company. Students will be required to analyse, design, develop, test and evaluate a program. The majority of the course is spent covering the theoretical aspects of Computer Science requiring students to have motivation and strong academic enthusiasm. A lot of time will be spent preparing students for exams and students are regularly tested and given feedback. As well as teaching the knowledge of Computer Science needed to sit the exams, the department will also develop students’ examination technique allowing them to achieve even higher marks. The course has a ‘Stretch and Challenge’ component built into it for gifted students.
