Course summary

The media is the fastest growing employment sector in the UK with a vast array of jobs. London is the media capital of Europe if not the world with over 600,000 media jobs. This course is designed to study an exciting range of contemporary media texts, from social media apps and websites to gaming and films. As part of the course you will learn and apply media and academic theory to contemporary media debates from self representation on social media to the lack of diversity in advertising. You will also learn practical techniques for media production in the Mac suite, such as designing your own websites and producing short films, documentaries and influencer profiles.
