Assessment
Assessment is by two three hour written examinations. Each examination is worth 50% of the total A Level. A Level Component 1: Epistemology: The tripartite model of knowledge Perception as a source of knowledge Reason as a source of knowledge The limits of knowledge Component 2: Religious Ethics includes: normative ethical theories the application of ethical theory to stealing, eating animals, simulated killing and telling lies ethical language and thought Meta-ethics Component 3: Metaphysics of God includes: The concept and nature of God Arguments relating to the existence of God Religious language Component 4: Metaphysics of Mind includes: What do we mean by ‘mind’? Dualist theories of mind Physicalist theories of mind Functionalism
