Course summary

Over the two years, students study a range of critical lenses and apply them to two texts; one selected and taught by the Department, and one selected and studied independently by the student. SUBJECT CONTENT Aspects of tragedy Drama: Death of a Salesman Shakespeare: Othello Poetry: Keats Social and Political Protest Writing Novel: The Handmaid’s Tale Post-2000 novel: The Kite Runner Poetry: Blake PATHWAYS Many students studying English will go on to study the subject or related subjects at university.
