Assessment

This A-Level consists of distinct pure and applied topics: Pure – Proof, Algebra and functions, Coordinate geometry in the (x, y) plane, Sequences and series, Trigonometry, Exponentials and logarithms, Differentiation, Integration, Numerical methods, and Vectors. Statistics – Statistical sampling, Data presentation and interpretation, Probability, Statistical distributions, Statistical hypothesis testing. Mechanics – Quantities and units in mechanics, Kinematics, Forces and Newton’s laws, Moments. Assessment is in the form of externally assessed written examinations, which are taken at the end of the two-year programme. Three written papers: each contributing 33.3% of the final grade. Each paper lasts 2 hours. 100 marks on each paper.
