Sport Extended Diploma - BTEC
Assessment
This BTEC is assessed through fourteen units; four of these are assessed externally, and the other ten are assessed internally over the course of two years. Externally assessed units allow you to demonstrate the breadth and depth of achievement. The two types of assessments include examinations and a set task. Examinations are when all students take the same assessment at the same time, which is normally a written outcome. A set task is where all students take an assessment during a defined window and demonstrate understanding through the completion of a vocational task. Internally assessed units include writing up the findings of your own research, using case studies to explore complex or unfamiliar situations, and demonstrating practical and technical skills.
