Year 12: Theme 1: Markets and Market Failure. - how markets work and what happens when they don’t work so well. Theme 2: The UK economy. - how the economy works in booms and recessions. Year 13: Theme 3: Business Behaviour and the Labour Market. - how businesses compete and set prices, how the job markets work and how competition can be encouraged. Theme 4: A Global Perspective. - globalisation and international trade, how economies develop, financial markets and public finances. How will the course be assessed? 3 papers at the end of Year 13. Each paper is 2 hours long. Paper 1 (35%): Themes 1 and 3 Paper 2 (35%): Themes 2 and 4 Paper 3 (30%): Themes 1, 2, 3 and 4
