Course summary

The A Level photography course is an endorsed Art and Design specialism. You will be encouraged to use formal elements and creative skills in your artwork therefore giving visual form to individual thoughts, feelings and ideas. Your camera will be equivalent to any other art medium, a tool to be explored and experimented with enabling you to create finished, polished outcomes or the foundation to something altogether more experimental and challenging. This is a very challenging course throughout both years and you will need to learn new technical skills and as well as using artistic processes. Using a 35mm Single Lens Reflex Camera. Studio lighting techniques. Black and white developing and printing. Digital photography and photo manipulation. Artist Research and contextual studies and Critical analysis.
