Course summary

The course introduces and extends the ideas and implications of modern chemistry, through experimental work. A wide range of experiments are undertaken by the student which support the teaching of key concepts. The course develops the key skills of data handling and analysis, thinking creatively, planning, problem solving, and the linking of ideas. Course Fundamentals: The relationship between chemical bonding, structure, and the physical and chemical properties of substances. How energy transfers and changes to the order of the system, entropy, can be used determine the feasibility of reactions. The application of chemical principles to industrial chemistry and environmental chemistry.
