Assessment
This A-Level consists of distinct pure and applied topics: Pure – Proof, Algebra and functions, Coordinate geometry in the (x, y) plane, Sequences and series, Trigonometry, Exponentials and logarithms, Differentiation, Integration, Numerical methods, and Vectors. Statistics – Statistical sampling, Data presentation and interpretation, Probability, Statistical distributions, Statistical hypothesis testing. Mechanics – Quantities and units in mechanics, Kinematics, Forces and Newton’s laws, Moments. Assessment is in the form of externally assessed written examinations, which are taken at the end of the two year programme. Three written papers: each contributing 33.3% of the final grade. Each paper lasts 2 hours. - 100 marks on each paper.
