Course summary

The programme of study for Year 12 pupils focuses on Religion, Ethics and Philosophy. Paper 1 will focus on the beliefs of one key religion. The development of analytical skills, empathy, tolerance, evaluation, oral and written communication all feature prominently throughout the course. Topics within the ethics and philosophy paper deal with issues such as medical animal experimentation, euthanasia, abortion, homosexuality, nuclear weapons and challenges to belief in the existence of God such as suffering and evil. At A2 ethical topics further include immigration and capital punishment.
