Assessment

AS and A2 units have a 40% and 60% weighting respectively. An E grade at AS is the minimum requirement to continue onto the A2 course. AS Level Units. These carry a 40% weighting of the final A2 award. Unit 1. Prose & Drama (closed-book) (20%) Unit 2. Poetry Post-1900 (open-book, clean copy) (20%) A2 Level Units These carry a 60% weighting of the final A2 award. Unit 3. Poetry Pre-1900 and Unseen Poetry (open-book, clean copy) (20%) Unit 4. Shakespeare (closed-book) (20%) Unit 5. Prose study (non-examination assessment; 2500-3500 words) (20%)
