Methods of assessment include: written essays, presentations, administration, website design, video production, CD ROM, mock interviews, designing training programmes and practical skill demonstrations. Each assignment is scored (subject to external moderation) and each student’s accumulated assignment score results in an overall BTEC mark: Pass, Merit or Distinction. In each year, there is one externally examined units, Unit 1 will be taken in Year 12 and Unit 2 in Year 13, as well as an internally assessed unit, comprising written and practical tasks for which demonstrating commitment to a work placement will be vital (Unit 5 in Year 12; Unit 10 in Year 13)
