Assessment

The 3 open book examinations include two comparison prose texts (Frankenstein/ War of the Worlds which is compared to The Handmaid’s Tale/ Never Let Me Go). A Shakespeare and Modern Play exam (Hamlet, King Lear, Othello, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Taming of the Shrew, Twelfth Night, The Importance of Being Earnest, Doctor Faustus, A Streetcar Named Desire). The poetry exam consists of Poem of the Decade and Christina Rossetti’s Selected Poems which explore themes of religion, gender inequality, identity, questions the Victorian Era and contemporary wider societal issues.
