- Three written papers: Paper 1 (Topics 1 – 4). 2 hours, 91 marks, 35% of A level. 76 marks: mix of short and long answer questions, 15 marks: extended response. Paper 2 (Topics 5 – 8). 2 hours, 91 marks, 35% of A level. 76 marks: mix of short and long answer questions, 15 marks: extended response Paper 3 (Topic 1 – 8). 2 hours, 78 marks, 30% of A level. 38 marks: structured questions, 15 marks: critical analysis, 25 marks: essay. - During the course 12 required practical experiments will be completed and the skills will be teacher assessed. A portfolio of work is collated to receive a Practical Endorsement certificate. The content of these experiments will be examined in the terminal exams.
