Assessment

Year 12 provides a thorough foundation in the subject. The emphasis in the first year is on exploring how stories are told. You will be encouraged to participate in active debate about the texts and to research and respond to alternative critical views. Exam (80% of A Level marks) Unit 1: Drama Study one Shakespeare play, another drama text from pre -1900 and a critical anthology Answer two questions incorporating the drama texts with the studied critical ideas 2 hours and 15 minutes exam - 30% of A Level qualification Unit 2: Prose Study two prose texts on a specific theme. One will be pre-1900. Answer one question comparing the two texts 1 hour open book exam - 20% of A Level qualification
