Written Examination  70 marks  Section A: 20 marks short and long form questions on practical skills and data analysis  Section B: 20 marks short and long form questions from every topic  Section C: 30 multiple choice questions  90 minutes  50% of the total AS marks Year 13 (A2 Physics) Paper 1  Measurements and their errors, particles and radiation, waves and optics, mechanics and materials, electricity, periodic motion Written Examination  85 marks – 60 marks short and long form questions and 25 multiple choice questions split by topic  2 hours  34% of the total A Level marks Paper 2  Thermal physics, fields, nuclear physics (assumed knowledge of previous topics) Written Examination  85 marks – 60 marks short and long form questions and 25 multiple choice questions split by topic  2 hours  34% of the total A Level marks Paper 3  Practical skills and data analysis + one of Astrophysics, medical physics, engineering physics, turning points in physics and electronics Written Examination  80 marks  Section A: 45 marks of long and short form questions of practical experiments and data analysis.  Section B: 35 marks of short and long form questions on one optional topic  32% of the total A-Level marks  2 hours
