The course will meet the needs of those aspiring to a career in sport and the health and leisure industry. The broad study base provides a variety of experiences and the opportunity to acquire knowledge across a diverse range of subjects. The course not only serves as a route to full time employment within sports related felds, it is also a proven progression route to Higher Education. It is equivalent to one A-level.
Units are assessed using a grading scale of Distinction*, Distinction, Merit, Pass and Unclassified. Assessment is by a combination of methods across the different units. ● Unit 1: Outcomes are assessed through an externally set, written examination paper, worth a maximum of 70 marks and 1 hour 30 minutes in duration ● Unit 3: Learning Outcomes are assessed through an externally set, written examination paper, worth a maximum of 60 marks and 1 hour in duration. ● Optional Units: Internally assessed
