This course will enable you to develop your photography skills to an Advanced level. You will start with a free choice project based on a list of possible starting points following several weeks of workshops. You will benefit from the experience of three photography teachers who will support and guide you with a rich variety of tasks and regular feedback with support. The project is continuously assessed to give you a clear indication of your standard and potential. Your ‘Personal Investigation’ Project is initiated with a research trip to London in June, followed by exploratory workshops designed to further extend your photographic potential. You then create your own project that evolves from your research. Again, continuous assessment will be provided to make sure that you are fully informed of your progress at all times, which enables reviewing and refining to occur to ensure that you are performing as highly as possible. The External Assignment Project begins on February 1st and is completed just before study leave after Easter.
Grade 5 or above in GCSE Art (if taken)
The work you produce is assessed continuously using the AQA exam board criteria. The work will also provide evidence for the four assessment objectives.
