Course summary
The Media Studies course integrates theoretical and practical approaches to learning about the media today. The subject explores both the practical, creative elements of the industry as well as giving students a secure understanding of academic and theoretical approaches to media analysis, issues and debates. Students will have the opportunity to not only create products of their own across a range of platforms but will also learn the core practical skills of image manipulation, video editing and textual analysis. In addition, students will be exposed to a large variety of media products from a range of sources, platforms and cultures in order to broaden their horizons and to challenge their perceptions of the media.
