This qualification is equivalent to one A level. The qualification is designed for post-16 students who may want to study a sport related degree course in higher education. The course focuses on a wide range of aspects of sport including physiology, psychology, sociology, biomechanics and performance analysis. You will produce two portfolios of detailed written assignments and videoS of your own presentations concerned with aspects of the course. There are two, two hour written examinations that the cover physiology of the human body. There is an element of practical work that involves fitness testing and the body’s adaption to exercice both long and short term.
Grade 4 in mathematics, English language or literature and C in additional science
This course is assessed by two written examinations and two written assignments.
