This qualification is equivalent to 3 A levels. The qualification is designed for post-16 students who want to study art and design related degree courses in higher education. You gain knowledge and understanding of visual communication and the creative process to develop your creative voice. You develop an understanding of the importance and influence of the work of artists and designers to develop and realise their creative intentions. You produce a portfolio of art and design work to support progression to higher education. Optional units allow you to gain knowledge in areas such as fashion, textiles, graphics, photography, 3D studies and fine art. The qualification is intended to be studied over two years as the substantial qualification in your programme of study.
Grade C in art & design or Merit in Level 2 BTEC art & design
This course is composed of practical work which is assessed by an external moderator and written work to accompany. There are no written examinations.
