
This course involves 5 units over two years – which is equivalent to one A-Level. There are two mandatory examined units and three further units. The choice of units will depend on the specialist pathway selected by the ICT department. To be successful on the OCR Cambridge Technical in IT course you should have an interest in developing the knowledge and skills you need to be a competent and informed ICT user and practitioner. You will benefit from this course if you: • are studying to prepare for employment in the IT sector • want to progress into IT-related apprenticeships • want to support further study in Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE) in IT In Year 12, we will focus on these 3 units: • Unit 6 Application Design • Unit 8 Project Management • Unit 21 Web Design & Prototyping In Year 13 you will focus on these 2 units: • Unit 1 Fundamentals of IT • Unit 2 Global Information
There are two 90-minute exams, worth 22% each. The rest of the marks are acquired through coursework modules.
